Fishing with an professional Orlando fishing guide can be one of the most enjoyable experiences that central Florida has too offer. Whether you are in town on business or visiting Orlando's theme parks from Disney to Universal Studios, it's relaxing way to spend a day while fishing in the pristine saltwater lagoons minutes away from the Orlando International Airport. Traveling east approximately thirty eight miles from the airport will take you through Florida's cypress hammocks and live oak forest to the Indian River Lagoon or slightly northward to Mosquito Lagoon and it's saltwater estuaries filled with snook, tarpon, redfish and spotted sea trout. Our professional fishing guides will keep you busy fishing for these Orlando gamefish and soaking up that famous Florida sunshine. After a day of fishing with an expert guide, you can head to the beach for a relaxing day of sunbathing and swimming in the Atlantic Ocean at the renowned Cocoa Beach.
Full-Time Professional fishing guides are a rare breed of people. There are many "part-time" anglers looking to make an extra buck or boat payment by taking unsuspecting customers out for a day of fishing. True professional fishing charter guides make it a daily part of their lives to keep up-to-date on not only the fishing, but the safety and comfort of their fishing customers. Lagooner Fishing Guides are Coast Guard Approved, hold Captain's Licenses and other documentation required to do business as required by National and State Laws. It's a Florida State requirement to have a fishing license and Florida offers a boat/guide license for professional charter captains. You must have an occupational license (Lagooner is an "S" Corporation) and maintain a commercial fishing license to take customers offshore for species like dolphin, snapper, grouper and mackerel. If a Charter Boat Captain does not have a fishing license to cover his customers, then customers must provide their own. Any decent fishing guide should have liability insurance encase someone gets hurt and it's mandatory to keep up-to-date on CPR and First Aid from the American Red Cross or other certified organization.
Lagooner has two boats provided by Action Craft High Performance Fishing Machines. Both are compliant and approved for operating in their respected locations inside of 100 miles of shore and with less than six customers. All tackle including rods and reels are modern St Croix Rods and Shimano or Penn Reels that are impeccably maintained.
