Inshore Fishing Near Orlando Florida
Beautiful Lagoons and Nearshore Beaches For Angling Opportunities
Monday May 29, 2017
Inshore fishing around Orlando Florida is a short 30 minute car ride from the Orlando International Airport to the beautiful lagoons including the Indian River Lagoon, Banana River Lagoon and the Mosquito lagoon. These saltwater lagoons hold several species of fish including redfish, sea trout, snook, tarpon and the tripletail above. While visiting the Orlando area and it's theme parks Disney, Epcot, Animal Kingdom or Universal Studio's and Island of Adventure, it will be a rewarding day to relax in the Florida sunshine on the Space Coast near Kennedy Space Center and the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge. Pack up your bags and fishing rod and head out with your family and friends today for an Inshore fishing trip near Orlando, Florida.
What's Inshore Fishing?
On Florida's coast, there are plenty of inshore fishing opportunities in the many bays, inlets, tributaries, marshlands and shallow sea grass areas behind the ocean front dunes that line our coastline. Directly east of Orlando between the beach and the mainland are vast saltwater lagoons that stretch north and south along the seaboard from Biscayne Bay in Miami toward Jacksonville and beyond. Inshore fishing is a great alternative to it's opposite of offshore fishing out of Port Canaveral.
Well equipped fishing guides take their customers out in high performance fishing boats known simply as flats boats. "Flats" is a name often used to describe shallow water sea grass beds and sandbar areas that line many of the shorelines of the lagoons. These fast and light skiffs are the best choice for getting to the fishing holes quickly and safely. Each are equipped with livewells, rod storage and typically have a poling platform that allows your guide to see greater distances in pursuit of shallow water predator fish like redfish, snook and sea trout.
Orlando Florida has Great Inshore Fishing for Everyone from the vacationing family to the visiting businessman. What's better than taking a day off from the theme parks or conference than a day in the outdoors with and exceptional fishing guide showing you the ropes around east central Florida while pulling in a few fish to boot. Inshore fishing is the perfect way to spend a day while you visit the Orlando area.
Florida's City Beautiful Orlando has allot to offer to the vacationing family or businessman including fishing the inshore waters directly east of the Orlando Airport and just a short ride via car and the beachline (formally the beeline) or SR 528. It's a straight shot from Orlando the fertile fishing grounds that are inshore of the Atlantic Ocean and Port Canaveral. I average over 300 fishing trips per year taking customers year after year for inshore and offshore fishing trips on Florida's Space Coast. Spend a day with us on the water next time you visit the Orlando area and reward yourself to a day of inshore fishing.

May - 2017 Fishing Report
May - 2017 Fishing Forecast
May in Central Florida is the beginning of great things for people looking toward an ocean fishing trip looking for fast action. King Mackerel, Cobia and even a few tarpon start to make a showing as May develops into a more summer like pattern. Inshore the fishing can be productive for early morning and evening anglers as the sun warms the gin clear waters of the Mosquito Lagoon and the Banana Rivers. Both Redfish and Spotted Sea Trout will be a popular gamefish that even the youngest anglers will appreciate and enjoy. Bring plenty of sunscreen, some polarized sunglasses and broadbill hat as the Florida sunshine will penetrate the most protected boating endeavors. May is the beginning of the summer in Florida as far as the temperatures are concerned, but there's often an afternoon shower, so be prepared to fish early and get off the water before the afternoon storms roll in. So remember, inshore fishing and offshore fishing are an equal opportunity in May in Central Florida.

Inshore Charter Fishing in the Banana River Lagoon near Cocoa Beach, Florida. Catch redfish, sea trout, tarpon, snook and many other saltwater gamefish aboard the world famous Lagooner flats fishing boat with renowned Captain Richard Bradley.
Had the best day fishing off Cocoa Beach with Capt. Richard while we were docked in Port Canaveral for the day from the Norwegian Gem. Capt. Gina was so helpful in planning our trip months ahead and even came right to the boat and picked us up when we pulled into Port! We caught some beautiful King Mackerel and had many laughs. I would recommend Lagooner to EVERYONE. If we ever get back down there, we'll definitely go again.
